The woman behind the words

Meet Jessica Johnson

Author, storyteller, and believer in the magic that grows from real life.

Jessica Johnson, author and founder of DozierRose Books
Her story

From lived experience to literary worlds

DozierRose Books began with a personal story. What started as Jessica Johnson documenting her own surrogacy journey became The Seer’s Womb, a novel blending women’s fiction with gothic fantasy.

That transformation inspired a larger vision: a home for emotionally honest stories, unexpected magic, and an imagination free to wander across genres.

Jessica is a Texas-based independent author, licensed social worker, mother, and former gestational surrogate. Her stories draw on the complexities of love, identity, choice, and the unseen things that shape our lives.

The stories she tells

A little unsettling. A little untamed. Deeply human.

Her works include The Seer’s Womb and The Thorns in Paris, a gothic novella available in English and French. Her forthcoming titles include Salt, Letters & Honey, her first middle-grade novel, where childhood grief meets eerie whimsy, and The Coven of Quiet Things, a haunting exploration of motherhood, possibility, and the lives we must leave behind.

Whether a story begins with a rose, a whispered secret, or a life-changing choice, Jessica invites readers into worlds where tenderness and darkness can exist side by side.

“Let the story bloom.”
